Born from necessity

Cristiano Bonomi says JOY was born from necessity, the clear need that comes after many moorings.
Each time he secured his old 35 ton sailing boat he felt the same ache in his back, a reminder that heavy lines were asking too much of the crew.
Determined to ease that strain, he sketched a cleat that would do the pulling while the sailor would simply guide the rope.
The drawing became a workshop prototype and soon after the JOY unit found on decks today.
The goal has never changed: make mooring gentle enough for everyone on board.
Its name is self-explanatory: using this cleat brings joy during the most annoying part of the boating experience, mooring.

Built from AISI 316 L stainless steel, sealed motor-gearbox and IP-rated magnetic foot-switch, JOY is oversized, corrosion-proof and fatigue-tested before it leaves our factory.
